Yes! All of our vehicles are equipped with the 4WD system and a low-range (4LO) transfer case and approved for accessing the Mauna Kea Summit. This is especially critical for the descent, as 4LO helps control your speed, preventing brake overheating and potential failure. If you venture to the summit you must follow all the driving laws and park guidelines. A copy of that information is in the travel guide as well as a link to the Mauna Kea park website.

Use our website to search your travel dates and times to select the vehicle you desire. Book the vehicle and pay with any major credit card. We do not accept debit cards. If you’re using a foreign credit card usually you need to call your issuing bank or credit card customer service to approve the charge (and damage deposit) before it will successfully process.

We require a $250 damage deposit if you use your own insurance. It is refunded after you return the vehicle with no damage or excessive wear and tear (example: ripped tires). It must also be returned with a full tank of gas unless you select the option of prepaid fuel refill. Payment for the rental itself is due in full at the time of booking to secure your reservation. If you book online and do not pay for the rental then the vehicle you selected will still be available for anyone else to rent over your rental dates. The Damage Deposit will be automatically charged to your credit card on file 5 days before your rental begins.

We require documentation of auto insurance that will cover your rental vehicle for comprehensive, collision and liability coverage. The document must show the name of insured drivers, effective dates over your rental period, insurance company name and the policy number.

If you do not meet the Insurance requirements you can opt to use our protection coverage options.

Premium Collision Damage Waiver & Liability – $59.99/Day Premium coverage bundle covers up to $35k to the rented vehicle less $1,000 deductible, third-party liability coverage and medical coverage for you and your family following an accident, as well as coverage for personal belongings. $600 Damage Deposit Required as a Credit Card Hold.

Collision Damage Waiver & Liability – $54.99/Day Provides liability insurance, a mandatory legal requirement, and covers up to $35k in damage done to the vehicle less a $1,000 deductible. $600 Damage Deposit Required as a Credit Card Hold.

Liability Coverage – $32.99/Day Provides liability insurance which is a mandatory legal requirement.

To honor the reservation, all prices are final after booking. We don’t allow further discounts after the rental reservation is made.

Cancellation Fee Applies: Reservations less than $1000 have $100 Cancellation Fee. Reservations over $1000 have 10% Cancellation Fee to cover credit card processing fees.

You may cancel your reservation up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled reservation time.

If you’re using a credit card for rental car coverage we still need your personal auto insurance documentation because almost all credit card coverage is secondary. Credit cards do not include liability coverage, only vehicle damage.

Our location is conveniently located about 5 minutes from the Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA). 73-4241 Hulikoa Drive, Kailua Kona HI 96740. We are a little less than a mile up on the left of Hulikoa Drive. You’ll see tall flags and a large banner sign for Hawaii Lifted Jeep Rentals.

We offer the option of a PRIVATE AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE with Big Island Transportation when you book with us! Only $129 round trip, tip included!

Big Island Transportation is the best transportation service on the island. They have large vans, will track your flight, meet you at baggage claim, load your luggage, and quickly deliver you to our location to pick up your rental vehicle. You will be from baggage claim to your Jeep rental in 5 minutes! No other rental company can do it faster!

Or you can catch an Uber, Lyft or local taxi from the airport. If you have a large group or a lot of luggage it will be easier to send one driver to pick up the rental vehicle while the others get luggage from baggage claim.

We recommend the driver leaves immediately after getting off the plane while everyone else waits for the luggage. It takes about 20 minutes for the bags to show up after landing and we are less than 10 minutes away so timing works out well.

For all driver’s we will need a copy/picture of
1. Valid/Current Drivers license
2. Driver’s Vehicle Insurance Card (Comprehensive, Collision & Liability Coverage)
3. Payment in full for the vehicle rental
4. Digital signature on the rental agreement. We can email you a link to sign.

We guarantee our rental vehicles and have never had to cancel a trip on a renter. As a small business we do not overbook – the vehicle you book and pay for is secured for your use only. The only way we would have to cancel is if the renter before you wrecks the vehicle or damages it in some way that leaves it unsafe to operate, and that has never happened before.

First Driver is included. Each additional driver is $5/per trip. There is a maximum of (4) drivers allowed on each rental vehicle contract.

All drivers must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid photo drivers license. *If you are under the age of 25 there is a young driver fee of $20/day + tax.

You have unlimited miles with your rental vehicle!

You must pay and take care of all your parking fines and traffic violations. These can be paid online by looking up the case number. If you do not know your case number we can look it up by license plate and share it with you. If you do not pay your ticket and we have to track you down to get the matter closed then you will also need to pay us a $40 processing fee for our time and effort to get the issue cleared.

Currently the Jeep keys cost $650 to replace and the 4Runner and Bronco keys cost around $700. These replacement costs are expected to increase every year.

For reservations less than $1,000 you may cancel your reservation for a refund less a $100 cancellation fee up to 72 hours prior to your reservation start time. For reservations over $1,000 there is a 10% credit card processing fee instead of the $100 fee. *Note: During the holiday/high seasons a one (1) week notice is required to cancel for refund.

All NEW Jeeps nothing older than 3 years! We constantly refresh our fleet, they don’t. New paint and adding extra accessories is not comparable to a new Jeep.
